Position Summary: In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our facilities. The Hygiene Operative will ensure that all areas are sanitized, safe, and presentable, adhering to established health and safety protocols. This position requires attention to detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Routine Cleaning:
* Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in all areas of the facility.
* Ensure restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
Sanitization:
* Thoroughly sanitize high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, handrails, and workstations.
* Use appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants, following safety guidelines for proper usage.
Waste Management:
* Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables from bins located throughout the facility.
* Ensure waste bins are emptied, cleaned, and sanitized frequently.
Stock and Supply Management:
* Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and hygiene products.
* Replenish supplies as needed and communicate any shortages to the supervisor.
Health and Safety Compliance:
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols to minimize risk of contamination and injury.
* Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it is in good condition.
Equipment Maintenance:
* Operate cleaning equipment safely and maintain it in good working condition.
* Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.
Incident Reporting:
* Report any health and safety hazards, incidents, or accidents to the appropriate personnel immediately.
* Document and communicate any cleaning or maintenance issues that require attention.
Qualifications
Collaboration:
* Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a clean and safe environment.
* Assist with special cleaning projects or tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Training and Development:
* Participate in training sessions on new cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
* Stay updated on best practices in hygiene and sanitation.
