AWS Direct Connect is currently available in more than 140 locations located in 28 countries.

What You'll Do
Pioneer Automation - Eliminate human error through innovative automation, transforming how network engineering services are deployed and operated
Drive Technical Vision - Lead the development of proactive and reactive mitigation strategies that ensure unparalleled service availability
Solve Complex Challenges - Tackle intricate network issues at massive scale, developing solutions that keep Direct connect global infrastructure running flawlessly
Engineer for Excellence - Design and implement high-availability systems that our customers stake their businesses on
As a Senior Engineer on this team, you'll collaborate with diverse software and network development engineers to revolutionise how we scale our global network. Your expertise will directly influence the reliability of critical infrastructure used by organizations worldwide. Key job responsibilities
You are interested in being part of a high-bar team with global responsibility for the Network Observability software used across all of AWS direct connect infrastructure
You will design and implement significant components and features that ensure network availability for Direct Connect by partnering with multiple other teams within AWS.
You will be responsible for implementing solutions that are focused on improving proactive and reactive resiliency of network designs and software systems to provide highly available service for our customers.

You do not implement specs from analysts and architects – you talk to your customers and design solutions to their problems. You automate and innovate.

Basic Qualifications
* Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
* Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
* Experience in professional, non-internship software development
* Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
* Experience in development in the last 3 years
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
* Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
