We have built strong engineering and solution architecture capability.
Now we are establishing a dedicated Enterprise Architecture function to bring coherence, direction and disciplined decision‑making at enterprise scale.
We are hiring a Head of Enterprise Architecture to lead it.
The Opportunity
This is a newly established leadership role with real organisational impact.
You will define how architecture operates across Dunnes Stores.
You will establish and chair the Architecture Review Board and Design Authority.
You will create practical guardrails and standards that enable delivery rather than slow it down.
You will work directly with senior technology and business leaders to ensure architectural direction supports commercial priorities.
This is not a documentation role.
It is about leadership, influence and judgement in a live transformation environment.
What You Will Do
Stand up and scale the Enterprise Architecture function
Define architecture principles, standards and reference patterns
Establish and operate Architecture Review Board governance
Bring structure and clarity across cloud, data, enterprise systems and customer‑facing platforms
Reduce duplication and architectural debt while enabling pace
Lead and develop an established architecture team
Contribute to major investment decisions and long‑term technology strategy
What We Are Looking For
This role has three clear requirements:
1. You have built or materially stood up an Enterprise Architecture function or equivalent capability.
Not participated. Built.
2. You have operated at enterprise scale and influenced senior stakeholders.
You are comfortable shaping decisions at CIO, CTO and business leadership level.
3. You balance governance with pragmatism.
You understand when to set guardrails and when to flex to protect delivery.
In addition, you will bring:
Experience establishing and chairing Architecture Review Boards or Design Authorities
Strong knowledge of modern cloud, data and enterprise platform landscapes
A track record of leading and developing architecture teams
Commercial awareness and the ability to connect technology to business outcomes
Formal certifications such as TOGAF are welcome. Demonstrated enterprise leadership is essential.
