Senior Community Facilitators – Day Services (Ref: 97894)
Permanent Full‑time / Permanent part‑time / Evenings and some weekends.
Location: Day Services, Cork City, suburbs, West Cork areas (Bandon / Innishannon), Co. Cork.
The Corlann South Services provide a wide range of day services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual we support, from community access programmes to intensive support services for people with intellectual disability and autism. The aim of the service is to provide every individual with opportunities to make meaningful choices, engage in new experiences, support personal growth, and community inclusion. Each day service is supported by dedicated staff teams and line management, supervision, in‑house training, and multidisciplinary teams. The Senior Community Facilitator will be assigned to a day service location based on experience, qualifications, and service need.
Role Responsibilities
The Senior Community Facilitator plays a leadership role within the day service, supporting the delivery of high‑quality person‑centred care to adults with intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities include:
Acting as a role model to staff, students, and service users.
Contributing to service planning, ensuring adherence to best practice, organisational policies and regulations, and promoting inclusion, rights, and wellbeing.
Supporting both direct service delivery and operational duties in collaboration with the day services manager.
Maintaining flexibility and developing new approaches to work, exhibiting a risk‑positive attitude.
Carrying out additional duties as required by the service.
Qualifications & Experience
Relevant Level 7 or higher qualification on the QQI framework in community development, health, or education.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with people with intellectual disability, autism, and complex needs.
Experience in programme development, implementation, and review for this population.
Practical experience in facilitating social inclusion and community integration.
Knowledge of New Directions themes and application within day services.
Practical experience using person‑centred planning methods.
Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary context.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and information systems.
Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and some weekends.
Full clean driving licence for Irish roads, as driving service vehicles is a requirement.
Salary Scale
€40,521 – €54,705 per annum, including 2 LSI’s (1/8/25 Consolidated Scales) and pro‑rata for part‑time roles.
