Job Purpose
Manage the commercial controlling functions of UK and Ireland, be the business partner to the CEO Ireland and to the UK and Ireland senior management team. Design and implement controlling strategies, financial and non-financial KPI planning, analysis and management. Focus on efficient and effective financial management of products, stations, and service centers for existing and new business. Serve as deputy to the Subregional CFO and monitor market and economic trends.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee financial planning and analysis to ensure commercial activities align with the company’s financial goals.
* Analyze and monitor performance of commercial operations, including revenue, costs, and profitability.
* Lead budgeting process for commercial activities; develop forecasts and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
* Prepare and present financial reports to senior management; highlight KPIs and trends.
* Conduct month-end closing activities, reviews, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Monitor sales pipeline and new business awards; cooperate with sales to obtain up-to-date information on wins and losses.
* Collect and analyze market data; link economic information to DHL UK & Ireland business.
* Manage monthly P&L/BS reviews, variance analysis, and provide financial steering guidance.
* Monitor profitability, productivity, and key operational KPIs by product, station, and service center.
* Act as deputy to the Subregional CFO and partner with Ireland CEO and UK & Ireland senior management, including station managers and function heads.
* Support internal and external audits; manage integration projects and support inorganic growth.
* Salary and service center controlling, including detailed P&L analyses, volume and rate impact; serve as the operations contact point and drive improvements.
* Develop business cases, perform financial calculations, and contribute to EOS activities and team engagement.
* Stay up-to-date with trends, policies, and regulations; provide training to stakeholders and peers.
Management & Stakeholders
* Manage 5-10 experienced professionals located in Ireland and UK
* Maintain high engagement within the finance team and across the organization
* Influence policies, practices and procedures beyond own role
* Develop strong relationships with business leaders across DHL
* Coordinate with 3rd party stakeholders (external service providers)
* Advise customers and key stakeholders on processes, systems and tools
