Job Description
Join MKO as a Seasonal Bat Ecologist for the 2026 bat survey season. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across sectors including renewable energy, residential development, transport, and infrastructure.
If you are passionate about wildlife and field ecology, this is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in bat ecology working alongside a team of specialists. You will be contributing to projects that make a real impact on our environment, developing your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform bat surveys and ecological fieldwork to best-practice standards.
* Manage and deploy bat monitoring equipment.
* Compile and analyse acoustic data using industry-standard software (e.g., Kaleidoscope Pro, BatExplorer).
* Provide essential support for project delivery as a valuable member of a multi-disciplinary team.
*What We're Looking For In You*
* A degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline.
* Strong ecological field skills and an interest in bat ecology.
* Experience with tools such as GIS, Kaleidoscope Pro, BatExplorer, Ecobat, and Microsoft Office.
* A full driver's licence is essential for nationwide survey work.
* The willingness to work outside normal office hours and in varied terrain.
