Job Description:
The Clinical Nurse Manager III Out of Hours will provide professional leadership during non-core hours, as directed by the Senior Nurse management team. The role will have site management responsibility across the seven-day week and will be allocated responsibility to designated clinical areas as required.
Rotation onto nights will be a requirement of this post. The Clinical Nurse Manager III Out of Hours will oversee the management of resources including staffing and staff development. They will facilitate communication across the healthcare teams and provide cover in the absence of an ADON on duty.
The post has a pivotal role in service planning and development, coordinating and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The Clinical Nurse 3 Out of Hours will be responsible for overseeing the quality of nursing care, developing and implementing policy and procedures, monitoring activity, and delivering agreed levels of service for the designated area(s).
Key Responsibilities:
* Exercise authority and coordinate the functions of the assigned area(s)
* Provide support, advice, and direction to staff as required
* Engage with the wider healthcare team and facilitate team building
* Facilitate communication at ward and service level and within the senior nurse management team
* Provide staff leadership and motivation conducive to good working relations and work performance
Professional and Clinical Responsibility:
* Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership
* Practice nursing according to Professional Clinical Guidelines, Local policies, protocols, and guidelines
* Manage, monitor, and evaluate professional and clinical standards ensuring an evidence-based, care-planning approach
Learning and Development Responsibilities:
* Contribute to service development through continuous education, research initiatives, keeping up-to-date with nursing literature, recent nursing research, and new developments in nursing management, education, and practice
* Provide support and advice to those engaging in continuous professional development
Communication Responsibilities:
* Communicate effectively to undertake the duties of the post
* Demonstrate effective writing and presentation skills
* Foster good working relationships between colleagues and other staff
