We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated GM Duty Manager to join our management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong hospitality leader who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is ready to take the next step in their career.
Role Overview
As Duty Manager, you will act as the senior manager on site during designated shifts, ensuring the smooth running of the hotel. You will oversee all operational departments, support staff, maintain service excellence, handle guest issues, and ensure compliance with all company policies and statutory requirements.
This role requires a hands-on leader with excellent communication, strong customer service skills, and the confidence to make effective decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Guest Experience
* Deliver an exceptional guest experience throughout all areas of the hotel.
* Lead by example on the floor, engaging with guests and resolving issues promptly.
* Monitor service standards and ensure consistency across all departments.
Operational Leadership
* Act as the main decision-maker in the absence of the General Manager/GM Deputy Manager.
* Oversee day-to-day operations including reception, bar, restaurant, entertainment, housekeeping, and security.
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels and assist with shift planning and coordination.
* Maintain compliance with health & safety, fire safety, licensing, food hygiene, and all relevant legislation.
Team Management & Development
* Supervise and support Duty Managers, Supervisors, and frontline staff.
* Provide coaching, guidance, and corrective action where required.
* Assist with identifying training needs and supporting ongoing staff development.
* Promote a positive, engaged, and professional team culture.
Administration & Reporting
* Oversee cash handling, stock control, and security procedures during shifts.
* Complete accurate shift handovers, incident reports, and operational updates.
* Report maintenance issues, hazards, and potential risks.
* Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are consistently followed.
Requirements
* Experience in a Duty Manager or Supervisory role within hospitality (hotel experience preferred).
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment with a calm and professional approach.
* Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
* Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and shifts as required.
* Knowledge of compliance areas such as health & safety, licensing, and food hygiene is an advantage.
