The Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) team supports AWS infrastructure growth and 24/7 data center operations.
As part of the Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO), this role reports to the DCEO Manager.
We seek highly motivated individuals interested in managing AWS operations within critical facilities operated by third-party Colocation Providers, who supply the physical infrastructure for AWS servers.
Candidates with less experience will receive training to manage these facilities.
The EOT is responsible for coordinating with Colocation Providers to operate and maintain critical electrical and mechanical (E&M) equipment, such as generators, switchgear, UPS, batteries, PDU, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, CRAHs, PLC controls, building monitoring systems, and fire suppression systems.
The EOT also acts as a frontline support responder for E&M facilities across multiple sites and manages rack power events.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain 24/7 operations with flexible scheduling, including 12-hour rotating shifts and on-call duties.Coordinate with Colocation providers, contractors, and internal teams for daily operations and routine maintenance of critical facilities.Participate in emergency drills and support response protocols.Respond promptly to alarms for critical E&M equipment, ensuring escalation as needed within SLAs.Assist with rack power-up installations, assessing space, power, and cooling needs.Maintain safety and security standards in AWS areas.Manage small to medium projects to improve data center operations.Use AWS tools for maintenance, incident management, and asset tracking.About the TeamWe value diverse experiences.
