Purpose of the role: The primary purpose of Pharmacy Aseptic Compounding Unit (ACU) in St. James Hospital (SJH) is the manufacture and supply of individualised doses of medicinal products for administration to hospital patients.
Current compounding processes incorporate both isolator and robotic technology, with in excess of 32,000 products processed per annum.
Production is expected to grow annually at rate of 3 to 5%.
A designated state of the art Cancer Institute is currently in design stages and will have a significant impact on how Pharmacy services are delivered in the coming years.
