About the Role We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor MEP to join a dynamic construction team in Cork.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Commercial Manager and client teams to manage all aspects of commercial and contractual responsibilities for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works on site.

Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate and agree project scope variations with contractors and clients.
Compile and agree final accounts.
Support the Senior and Intermediate Quantity Surveyor functions, including tender preparation, subcontractor selection, negotiation, and final account completion for MEP packages.
Maintain site records, document control, and site measurement records.
Prepare forecasts, targets, and CV reconciliations.
Prepare and manage valuations and variations with adequate records and supporting details.
Liaise with site management teams to commercially influence and challenge where appropriate.
Protect the companys commercial and contractual entitlement throughout the project lifecycle.
Actively contribute to CVR processes and maintain an independent commercial view.
Review risks and opportunities and develop understanding of insurances, warranties, and cash management.
Oversee and mentor Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, ensuring accuracy of their work.
Demonstrate ownership, commercial awareness, and effective time management on all tasks.
Maintain clear written and verbal communication and effectively utilise technology platforms.
Necessary Skills and Requirements Degree-level education in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Working towards relevant professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
Minimum 25 years experience in quantity surveying with a focus on MEP/Building Services.
Competence with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other technology platforms.
Familiarity with the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM).
Strong negotiation, report writing, and commercial awareness skills.
Understanding of JCT contracts and contract/commercial appreciation.
Effective organisational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
