Safety and Equipment Management Role Overview
Job Description:
The Senior Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing process equipment is properly maintained, supported, and available. This includes utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to schedule and track maintenance activities, ensuring optimal equipment uptime.
The role will also involve ensuring best practice approaches for spare part management to minimize operational disruption.
The ideal candidate will provide technical input to maintenance-related quality incidents and implement an ongoing program to increase right-first-time tasks.
In addition, the Senior Maintenance Manager will ensure that the maintenance structure is fit for purpose, standardizing approaches and practices while implementing changes using an effective change management approach.
The successful candidate will build a high-trust and engagement culture within a diverse and talented technical support team of supervisors, technical leads, and coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities will include effective performance management, communications, and recognition within the function. Additionally, the role will involve supporting and/or managing maintenance CI programs as required.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and quality assurance will be necessary to resolve technical challenges and optimize processes.
Effective communication with senior management, presenting updates on maintenance activities and key performance indicators, will be essential.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and flexibility to support operational demands and changes to business direction as needed.
Requirements:
A degree in Engineering (mechanical/electrical/mechatronics) is essential, with additional qualifications in mechatronics, automation, or business/management being advantageous.
At least 5 years' experience in a similar role in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment, with technical team leadership, is required.
Strong exposure to process equipment best-practice maintenance, including CMMS and RCM, is necessary.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience and ability to enhance skills, capabilities, and performance of maintenance personnel.
Excellent influencer and written/verbal communicator skills are essential, along with good documentation skills.
Able to work on own initiative with minimal direction, numerate with good financial/budgeting skills, and able to use CMMS to influence maintenance efficiencies are required.
Knowledge and experience of implementing best practices with a focus on continuous Improvement are desired.
