Position: Maintenance Person

Reports to: Maintenance Manager/General Manager

The Riverside Park Hotel are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Person to join our team. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager and wider team, you will ensure the hotel operates safely, efficiently and to the highest standards for our guests and team members.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment. Previous maintenance experience and electrical experience are essential, along with an all-round knowledge of plumbing, general maintenance, and building systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintenance & Repairs:
Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks across all areas of the hotel, including bedrooms, public areas, kitchens, leisure facilities, and external spaces. Ensure all works are completed promptly, safely and to a high standard.
* Electrical Work:
Perform electrical repairs, installations and fault-finding as required, ensuring all electrical systems and equipment operate safely and efficiently, and in compliance with relevant regulations.
* Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance checks to minimise breakdowns, extend equipment life, and ensure consistent guest comfort. Maintain accurate records of inspections, services and repairs.
* Plumbing & General Maintenance:
Assist with plumbing, heating, and general building maintenance tasks, ensuring all hotel systems function effectively and any issues are resolved swiftly.
* Health & Safety:
Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for guests, colleagues and contractors. Report and address hazards immediately and participate in regular safety checks and fire drills.
* Contractor Coordination:
Liaise with and assist external contractors on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to company standards.
* Energy Efficiency:
Monitor and support the hotel's energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and energy consumption in line with our value of "Care" for our planet.
* Teamwork & Communication:
Work closely with the Maintenance Manager, General Manager and other departments to prioritise and plan maintenance schedules. Communicate effectively with colleagues to minimise disruption to hotel operations and guests.
* Guest Service:
Respond courteously and efficiently to maintenance requests from guests or team members, ensuring issues are resolved quickly to maintain our 4-star service standards.
* Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, including equipment service records, daily checklists, and inventory of tools and supplies.
* Continuous Improvement:
Take initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and suggest innovative solutions that align with our value of "Always Getting Better."

Candidate Requirements

* Previous maintenance experience essential
· Electrical experience essential
· Trade qualification is desirable
· Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
· A positive, can-do attitude with pride in your work
