This role involves working closely with site teams to ensure compliance with regulations, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture. The position provides expert guidance on risk reduction strategies, ensures personnel receive adequate training, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Senior EHS Advisor acts as a liaison with regulatory bodies and contributes to sustainability and environmental programs.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Develop, review, and update risk assessments and method statements.Deliver training sessions and toolbox talks to site personnel and subcontractors.Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.Ensure safety signage, PPE, and emergency procedures are in place and adhered to.Collaborate with project teams to implement and monitor site-specific Health and Safety Plans.Enforce compliance with company policies, industry standards, and HSE legislation.Support environmental initiatives, including waste management and energy efficiency measures.Maintain and manage HSE documentation (statutory inspections, permits, incident logs, audit reports).Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies during site visits and inspections.Provide proactive advice on safety performance improvement and risk mitigation.Manage direct reports, including junior advisors or trainees.Oversee workload across multiple sites and provide system training for staff.Assist with incident investigations and audit preparation.Attend senior-level meetings, including client-facing discussions and tender clarifications.Support sustainability and ESG tasks, including tenders and pre-qualifications.Undertake additional instructor training (e.g., Working at Heights, Fire Awareness).Competencies & SkillsStrong knowledge of EHS regulations, risk assessment, and hazard identification.Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis.Familiarity with management systems (ISO 14001, ISO Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and subcontractors.Excellent organisational and communication skills with attention to detail.Adaptability to evolving regulations and proactive improvement initiatives.General Contracting Construction experience is a prerequisite
