This is a chance for an engineer to gain experience in mechanical systems and contribute to the success of complex building services projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop comprehensive mechanical tender proposals, ensuring all system components including HVAC, ductwork, pipework, plant, public health systems, and specialist mechanical installations are accurately assessed and scoped.
2. Analyse tender drawings, technical specifications, schedules, schematics, and design documentation to identify all mechanical requirements and interfaces.
3. Collaborate with mechanical design and project engineering teams to create robust, buildable design solutions and provide input into value engineering opportunities.
4. Evaluate and assess mechanical subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure technical compliance, cost competitiveness, and alignment with project specifications.
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing, mechanical plant options, installation methods, material costs, and industry standards.
6. Prepare tender clarifications, technical submissions, risk registers, and supporting documentation according to company procedures.
7. Contribute to tender handover meetings by providing clear technical and commercial breakdowns to project delivery teams post-award.
8. Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout the tender process.
