Estimator Hybrid Role A respected main contractor with its head office in Galway is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Estimatorto join their expanding team.
This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile commercial, industrial, and educational projects across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities Analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate costings.
Develop detailed estimates for labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor packages.
Compile and deliver tender submissions within deadlines.
Assess project risks and opportunities to support decision-making.
Source, review, and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing.
Collaborate with Commercial, Contracts, and Project Managers to maintain consistent cost data.
Participate in pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, consultants, and design teams.
Contribute to value engineering initiatives and alternative construction solutions.
Produce detailed handover documentation for project teams once tenders are secured.
Support early-stage project planning with cost advice and procurement strategies.
Requirements Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years experience in estimating within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of Irish construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Advanced numerical and analytical ability with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficiency in estimating software (Buildsoft, Cubit, Causeway) plus MS Excel and COINS.
