Job Description
The Courts Service are hiring a Junior/Graduate Cyber Security Specialist (EO) to join our ICT team. This position is hybrid.
The Role:
The role reports to a Cyber Security Specialist (HEO) and is responsible for assisting in the design, build, management and support of infrastructure and cyber security services that underpin the organisation's digital services. Responsibilities also include assisting in the analysis and definition of requirements for the migration of legacy technologies to modern solutions and the implementation of these projects.
This role will work alongside the Infrastructure and cyber security team members, other ICT teams, contractors, vendors, and business stakeholders. The role is both technical and business facing, the candidate must demonstrate technical skills and ability to develop expertise (there will be hands-on technical work required) whilst also being capable of contributing to and managing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Expertise
* Working within the Cybersecurity Team at Courts Service.
* You will identify and document security issues or breaches and work to investigate these breaches to understand their root cause and how to resolve these.
* You will have the opportunity to develop company-wide best practices for IT security and gain exposure to industry-leading cybersecurity platforms.
* Help to develop security and cyber awareness documentation, such as training and presentation materials, for both use by or delivery to technical and non-technical audiences;
* Work with and support business units to help identify IT Asset risks and threats.
* Undertake such training and development, by yourself or team, as may be required to ensure that you stay up to date with the technologies in your area of operations
* Collaborating with the security and infrastructure teams, performing tests to uncover vulnerabilities, helping make client endpoints, infrastructure and cloud estate more secure.
* Taking the lead in ensuring security issues, risk and corrective actions are resolved or escalated to the proper resources to resolve in a timely manner.
* Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by your Manager.

Stakeholder Engagement
* Proactively engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, from ICT infrastructure, cyber security, and applications teams to wider operational staff and judiciary to develop and maintain a technical environment that secure, highly available and fit for purpose.
* Assist in the setup and participate in working groups, workshops and other fora as required to advance the digital agenda and support the ongoing evolution of Organisation's digital services.
Procurement
* Support the team's activity by participating in procurement initiatives to source products and services required.
Vendors
* Actively assist in the management of vendors and contractors, ensuring that they adhere to the principles of the organisation, and carry out their tasks in a manner that is compatible with the policies and procedures of the organisation.
* Actively monitor the performance of vendors, value for money and advise the Security Lead if corrective actions are required.
Budget
* Aid the Cyber Security Team in the tracking of the team spend against budget in line with organisational procedures.
Team
* Foster the expertise in the Cyber Security team by engaging in and promoting learning and development opportunities.
* Actively seeks new knowledge in the technical domain and also seeks out an understanding of the business of the Courts Service.
* Lead by example by demonstrating a commitment to public service values.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements
* Knowledge of ICT infrastructure and proven skills in an ICT environment
* A qualification at Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major award), in a relevant Information Technology, Computing or computational discipline, ideally a Cybersecurity or related degree is desired.
* Security or network related certification is a benefit though not necessary (CCNA, CompTIA Security+ Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate etc)
* Self-motivated with a drive to continuously improve.
* Strong communication skills
* Professional approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Passion for learning technology with demonstrable experience via college, self-study or work experience.
* Experience with M365/Azure, Microsoft Sentinel, Darktrace or Qualys would be a plus.
* Knowledge of DevOps tools or coding/scripting language (e.g., KQL, SQL) is an advantage.
* Ability to collaborate with other teams during the plan, design, test activities as needed, for projects and initiatives
* Awareness of and interest in the latest trends and developments in ICT
