Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team to lead the development of a new range of surgical training models. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of 3D printed models embedded with sensors to enhance vascular surgeons’ training.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the design and development of 3D printed surgical training models.
* Integrate sensors into models to provide real-time feedback for vascular surgeons.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and clinical experts.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
* Conduct testing and validation of models to meet quality and performance standards.
* Provide technical support and training to end-users.
* Stay updated with the latest advancements in 3D printing and medical technology.
* Interact with surgeons and medical device engineers to gather requirements and feedback.
* Travel Commitments: Regular travel to Northern Ireland and the UK.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Ulster University as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Interviews will be held approximately week commencing: 17/03/2025.

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of 3D printing technologies and sensor integration.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Documented skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and programming (such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi) must include specific examples or a portfolio.
* Must be legally entitled to work in Ireland/ EU and to travel in the EU and UK; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Ireland/EU you must upload a copy of it with your application.
* PhD in a related field.
* Previous industrial experience in medical device or healthcare sector.
* Strong analytical, numerical and IT skills.
