About The Role

Down Syndrome Ireland is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Administrator to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is looking to gain experience in the charitable sector and contribute to the impactful work of a national organisation.

As part of a small and dynamic team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes across the organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will take responsibility for a range of bookkeeping and administrative duties and work closely with our regional branches.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage day-to-day bookkeeping including purchase and sales invoice processing, and bank reconciliations
* Ensure accurate coding and posting of transactions on XERO accounting software
* Process creditor payments and carry out credit control functions
* Prepare and complete monthly bank reconciliations
* Assist in the preparation and processing of month-end accounts
* Support the statutory audit process through preparation and provision of documentation
* Respond to financial queries from Branches and liaise on financial administration as required
* Provide administrative and ad hoc support to the Head of Finance and wider Finance team

Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements:

* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or finance administration role
* Proven experience using XERO accounting software (essential)
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
* Excellent organisational skills with a methodical approach to work
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Fluent in spoken and written English
* Good numeracy and analytical skills
* Positive, flexible attitude and a team-oriented approach

Location: National Office, Ballymount, Dublin 12

Work Model: Hybrid working available (in line with Government guidelines)

Hours: Part-time, 3 - 4 x 7.5 hour days per week

Salary: €37,500 pro rata #J-18808-Ljbffr
