Medforce are seeking an experienced and committed Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team in Kildare. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative interdisciplinary team providing high‑quality, family‑centred services to children and young people with complex needs.
The Role
As a Senior Occupational Therapist on the CDNT, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive OT assessments and interventions to support children’s participation, independence and functional development. You will work within a family‑centred model alongside Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers and other specialists.
Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist:
Completing advanced OT assessments and intervention plans tailored to each child’s needs
Supporting children with sensory processing differences, motor challenges, ADLs and equipment needs
Providing parent and caregiver education and supporting goal‑setting within the family context
Leading on clinical decision‑making and contributing to MDT case discussions
Offering supervision and guidance to staff grade OT colleagues and students
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service evaluation and development
Requirements of the Senior Occupational Therapist:
CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
Minimum three years post‑qualification experience, with relevant paediatric or disability experience
Strong clinical reasoning and evidence‑based practice skills
Experience working within an MDT and in family‑centred models of care
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
