Site Manager – Cork, Ireland
About the Role
A leading construction and engineering contractor is seeking an experienced
Site Manager
to oversee day‑to‑day operations on a major project in Cork. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving programme, quality, safety, and subcontractor performance while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring the project is delivered to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with programme, quality, and safety requirements.
* Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers to maintain efficient workflow.
* Monitor progress against schedule, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
* Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
* Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety audits.
* Review drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to ensure accuracy and buildability.
* Maintain daily site records, reports, and communication with the Project Manager.
* Support cost control, materials management, and procurement planning.
* Foster a positive, collaborative site culture with a focus on delivery and continuous improvement.
Requirements
* 5+ years' experience in a Site Manager within the Irish or UK construction sector.
* Proven track record delivering projects in one or more of the following: residential, commercial, healthcare, industrial, or fit-out.
* Strong understanding of Irish building regulations, BCAR, and H&S legislation.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain a high‑performance site environment.
* Relevant construction qualification (trade background, engineering, construction management, or similar).
