Title: Senior Environmental Scientist
Location: Cork or Wicklow on a hybrid basis but additional locations in Ireland are also available.
Please note: A full clean Irish or EU driver's license is essential as well as previous working experience in a similar role in Ireland.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Project manage the delivery of environmental auditing and environmental due diligence projects.
* Undertake business development activities and prepare tender documents.
* Ensure that new and existing business is maintained through client liaison.
* Attend monthly project and workload review meetings.
* Conduct fieldwork e.g. site visits, environmental sampling and site investigations involving sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, air quality, noise, etc.
* Interpret fieldwork data i.e. statistical analysis and comparison with relevant guidelines and legislative standards.
* Prepare technical reports for companies, environmental agencies and government bodies.
* Assist in preparing project proposals and quotations.
* Liaise with clients, landowners and statutory consultees.
* Organise and manage sub-consultants, sub-contractors and third-party contributors to projects.
* Contribute to other projects or duties as may be required.
Education, Experience and Memberships:
* Relevant Science or Engineering degree.
* Membership/Chartered Status with a relevant professional body/institute.
* At least four years of relevant experience in Environmental Consultancy.
* Good working knowledge and experience in implementing relevant EU and Irish legislation relating to environmental compliance and management of contaminated land.
* Ambitious with a drive to succeed.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Be a strong team player, but it is essential that the candidate is self-motivated.
* Must be flexible to travel when required.
* Excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage with people at all levels.
