Project Engineer in Life Sciences
Ireland is a hub for the life sciences sector, boasting global players that establish and expand manufacturing facilities across the country. This role involves working as part of a team on a significant expansion project for a pharmaceutical organization in Ireland.
The position is based at a site accessible by car or public transport, approximately 20 minutes from an international airport. You will be required to work on-site five days a week, Monday to Friday, for approximately 45 hours, focusing on key aspects such as designing and specifying clean utilities, HVAC equipment, piping, ducting, and controls.
Key responsibilities include:
• Designing and specifying clean utilities, HVAC equipment, piping, ducting, and controls
• Managing small-to-mid-sized projects related to utilities and HVAC services
• Conducting troubleshooting for complex issues with plant equipment and systems, identifying corrective actions
• Assisting in design reviews, site acceptance, and installation of equipment
• Supporting QA validation by preparing design documents and assisting protocol execution
• Investigating utility system anomalies and safety incidents, implementing corrective actions
• Preparing engineering evaluations and test plans, executing modification change control documentation
• Interpreting P&IDs, equipment/system layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications for maintenance and repairs
• Supervising mechanical, electrical, and automation contractors, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
The ideal candidate should hold a Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, preferably with three years of experience in engineering. Direct experience with utilities systems (clean/grey) and HVAC is also highly valued.
