Field Service Engineer – Dublin, Republic of Ireland
Location: Dublin, Damastown Way (IRL), Dublin, IE – Ireland
Job type: Permanent, Full Time.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch.
The impact you will have
As part of the Service division in the Republic of Ireland, you will service medical devices in acute hospitals, long-term nursing units, private homes and charitable organisations.
You will manage your own stock, travel to customer sites, and maintain equipment such as overhead hoists, beds, mattresses, baths, trolleys and bed pan washers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out service itineraries in accordance with company and service procedures, optimising time and minimising costs.
Ensure you are fully conversant with product specifications, local health and safety requirements and arrangements for safe work on customer premises.
Complete and submit all relevant documentation accurately and within agreed time-frames.
Inform staff of the reason for the visit and obtain permission before work; ensure the area is left clean and tidy, parts and chemicals disposed of in line with site instructions, and documentation correct and authorised.
Provide feedback and recommendations to support ongoing improvement of products and services.
Maintain an exemplary standard of personal appearance, hygiene and health.
Keep all tools, spares and equipment in safe working condition, reporting unsafe items immediately.
Liaise with service admin and customer contacts to communicate appointment times and work duration.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Preferably previous experience in a similar role; City and Guild/NFQ Level 6 or higher in mechanical/electrical engineering, or equivalent.
Mechanical/electrical engineering experience – essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and competent computer skills.
Flexible, self-motivated, and able to motivate others.
Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience working at heights.
Experience using power tools and following installation manuals.
Willingness to travel and stay overnight in various locations in ROI.
Full driving licence (with appropriate documents for Garda vetting).
Garda vetting check will be carried out at the company's expense.
