include managing and coordinating tendering and contract awards for marine geotechnical and geophysical
services, overseeing offshore survey execution, and providing expert advice on geotechnical engineering solutions.
The role also involves mentoring junior colleagues and fostering knowledge sharing within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert geotechnical advice and leadership on complex technical matters
- Scope, procure, and manage offshore geotechnical investigation contracts
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure surveys are planned and conducted in compliance
with legislative requirements
- Collaborate with third-party geophysical specialists to provide technical oversight, ensuring geophysical
surveys are appropriately scoped, procured, and managed to meet technical objectives and mitigate ground risks
- Perform detailed geotechnical designs and analyses for wind turbine foundations
- Develop and maintain Project Geotechnical Risk Registers and mitigation strategies
- Stay abreast of the latest geotechnical technologies relevant to offshore wind farms
- Make informed, commercially focused decisions
- Conduct design reviews, desk studies, and site evaluations
- Develop and maintain technical consultancy frameworks
- Interpret soil and rock parameters accurately
- Contribute to the delivery of safer wind farm projects, integrating Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements
- Support the mentoring and professional development of junior staff
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- A minimum of seven years' experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on marine environments
- Familiarity with offshore codes, standards, and best practises
- Proven experience in scoping, specifying, and managing offshore geotechnical investigations
- Proficiency with soil mechanics analysis and design software packages
- Experience working with challenging ground conditions in marine settings
- Knowledge of recent geotechnical research related to xyswxtq offshore wind
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience delivering major projects within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Organised with strong commercial project management capabilities

Qualifications
Essential
- Level 8 Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering, Engineering Geology, or equivalent

- Level 9 Engineering Degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent
- Chartered status with a recognised professional institution
- Project Management qualification
