With over 50 years of experience and a strong commitment to sustainable practices, the company plays a vital role in both domestic and international food supply chains.
As part of a significant digital transformation journey, the business is establishing a fully independent ICT infrastructure following its exit from a Transitional Service Agreement (TSA). This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead the design and operation of a greenfield technology environment in a complex, enterprise-scale setting.
The Opportunity
This senior leadership role is responsible for the design, delivery, and management of the companys core technology platforms and infrastructure. The Head of Technology Platforms & Operations will play a pivotal role in creating a secure, scalable, and high-performing IT environment, overseeing areas such as cloud infrastructure, networking, end-user computing (EUC), platform security, and service operations.
You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across applications, SAP, service management, and wider business units to ensure platform strategies support both current needs and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
Define and implement the platform and infrastructure roadmap in line with business strategy and TSA transition milestones
Lead the design, deployment, and management of Microsoft Azure environments, including identity, networking, backup, and monitoring
Oversee the full lifecycle of End User Computing (EUC) services including Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Autopilot, and endpoint management
Ensure platform resilience, high availability, and security through observability tooling and disaster recovery planning
Apply Zero Trust principles to identity, device, and access management in collaboration with internal security and audit teams
Establish and maintain ITIL-based operational processes covering Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management
Manage relationships with key service providers, including MSPs, NOC/SOC vendors, and cloud and connectivity partners, ensuring adherence to SLAs
Drive integration readiness and automation within the infrastructure estate to support business applications and data platforms
Build and lead a high-performing team across cloud, EUC, infrastructure, and operations, fostering a culture of service excellence
Champion continuous improvement initiatives in cost control, service maturity, and platform performance
Key Accountabilities
Ownership of core technology platforms: cloud, network, and EUC
Operational performance and cost optimisation of Azure environments
Management of device lifecycle and endpoint security across the organisation
24/7 platform readiness, including incident response and business continuity
Compliance with internal security and governance standards
Oversight of third-party vendor performance and service delivery metrics
Team leadership, development, and succession planning within platform operations
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 10 years experience in ICT, including 3 -5 years in platform, infrastructure, or operations leadership roles
Proven expertise with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, and endpoint technologies
Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks, service operations, and SLA-based delivery
Experience in cloud platform transitions, greenfield ICT builds, or TSA separation is a distinct advantage
Effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management capabilities
Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing technical teams in complex environments
