This is a site-based, office-hours position, working with a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will join a dedicated on-site team delivering BMS automation expertise across multiple functions.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Lead the upgrade, configuration, commissioning, operation, and optimisation of Qualified (GxP) and Non-Qualified (Non-GxP) BMS systems across the facility.
* Act as the
technical lead for Siemens Desigo
, ensuring reliable performance, compliance, and successful system integration.
* Provide subject matter expertise for BMS systems, supporting cross-functional teams including QA, facilities, and manufacturing.
* Mentor junior engineers and technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
* Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effective delivery.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance energy efficiency, system reliability, and sustainability.
* Stay current with emerging BMS technology trends and apply innovative solutions.
* Support integration with HVAC controls, environmental monitoring, and energy management systems using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or OPC.
* Maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks including GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and ISA standards.
Requirements
* Third-level qualification in
Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering, Computer Science
, or a related field.
* Minimum 8
years' experience
working with BMS automated control systems, preferably within the Life Sciences/Pharma sector.
* Previous hands-on experience with
Siemens Desigo CC
is required.
* Exposure to other systems (e.g., ABB Cylon) is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S88, ISA-95, and 21 CFR Part 11.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
