Key Responsibilities
* Manage all contractual and commercial aspects of key projects, involving liaison with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and other business units.
* Oversee the legal, commercial, and contract management of key projects from inception to completion, ensuring that contracts are monitored and maintained within the overall programme.
* Provide guidance to project teams on legal and contractual matters, identifying problem areas and developing constructive approaches to resolution.
* Assist project teams in monitoring and maintaining commercial contracts, including subcontractor management.
* Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure that all contractual entitlements are captured, submitted, and resolved with clients.
* Monitor and report project expenditure and cost control, ensuring compliance with organisational standards.
* Handle contract variations and claims management, resolving disputes through negotiation or arbitration.
Requirements
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in a senior commercial role.
* Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Strong background in commercial law, with significant experience in contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Certification in construction law or a related field.
* Proven knowledge of construction claims, arbitration, or adjudication processes.
* Experience working with large contracting organisations, with understanding of their operational requirements.
* Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
