Senior Data Centre Cost Consultant (Senior Quantity Surveyor)

They are at the forefront of the technology and mission‑critical sectors, acting as trusted advisors to some of the world's largest Data Centre operators.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cost Consultant / Quantity Surveyor or Associate Director with a proven track record in the Data Centre environment to lead complex cost management activities from feasibility through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
Feasibility & Budgeting: Developing initial CAPEX models and high‑level cost plans for new Hyperscale and co‑location Data Centre builds, extensions, and fit‑outs.
Cost Planning: Delivering detailed, robust cost estimates, utilizing a deep understanding of M&E systems, critical infrastructure (cooling, power, redundancy), and specialist facility fit‑out requirements.
Procurement & Tendering: Managing full tender processes, evaluating contractor submissions, negotiating contracts, and preparing comprehensive contractual documents.
Value Engineering: Proactively identifying value‑add and cost‑saving opportunities without compromising mission‑critical performance or resilience.
Contract Management: Providing post‑contract cost control, managing change orders, valuing variations, and compiling final accounts.
Stakeholder Liaison: Working closely with clients, design teams, contractors, and project managers to provide clear, timely financial advice and risk analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
Professional Qualification: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics (or equivalent).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to Data Centre, Mission Critical, or high‑specification M&E‑heavy projects.
Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Data Centre specific cost drivers, including critical M&E components, high‑density power requirements, and modular construction approaches.
Consultancy Background: Proven experience within a Professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) or construction consultancy environment.
Communication: Exceptional analytical, reporting, and client‑facing communication skills.
MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation.
Experience with European projects or a multi‑national client base.
Knowledge of procurement routes typical for fast‑track Data Centre delivery.
