The project:
We are looking for an experienced sustainability manager to support our Mace construction project in Ballycoolin Dublin, working 5 days per week on site. The successful candidate will join the existing responsible business team and deliver onsite environment and social value services for Mace's construction division. The role will also support Mace’s wider corporate ambitions to reduce client carbon emissions by 10 million tonnes by 2026 and deliver €1.3bn of value to society by 2030.

You’ll be responsible for:
* Leading the development of the client carbon and sustainability strategy on the project, including agreeing project outcomes and ensuring their delivery by the project team.
* Translating technical topics into laypersons language and articulating the value of sustainability.
* Supporting the drive for Mace to be a leader in climate change and sustainability.
* Delivering purpose-led and measurable outcomes on the project.
* Ensuring all targets (legal, client, and Mace) are being met.
* Ensuring the project contributes to the 2026 Mace business plan KPIs and targets.
* Maintaining awareness of client and market needs to evolve and maintain necessary competencies.
* Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders, including design team members, contractors, subcontractors, and regulators.
* Representing Mace at relevant forums and through presentations to clients and working groups.
* Engaging regularly with your client and consultants, sharing knowledge, project updates, and insights.
* Managing data quality and identifying actionable insights.
* Driving improvements and better outcomes beyond just reporting.
* Measuring and tracking innovation to deliver meaningful outcomes.
* Ensuring legal compliance, legislation adherence, and following the Mace way.
* Supporting bid processes to exceed client expectations while ensuring deliverability.
* Identifying local needs and writing social value plans to meet local authority, community, and client needs.
* Providing updates to local communities and responding to their inquiries.
* Managing the delivery of employment and skills targets, working with stakeholders and supply chain.
* Monitoring and reporting monthly on socio-economic targets to relevant authorities.
* Maintaining positive relationships with community stakeholders, including colleges, councils, training providers, and job centers.
* Implementing employment strategies with subcontractors and local authorities.
* Screening and referring apprenticeship and job candidates.
* Producing case studies to communicate best practices.
* Delivering community investment activities and engaging with educational institutions for site visits and work experience.
* Writing and analyzing social value statements.
You’ll need to have:
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Ability to drive change, lead others, and adopt innovative solutions.
* Effective problem-solving and negotiation skills.
* Strong IT skills, including advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to liaise with people at all levels and persuade stakeholders.

* Proven track record in sustainability work (>4 years).
* Relevant industry expertise and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification (postgraduate degree or equivalent).
* Experience in sustainability roles, ideally 4+ years.
