The Employment Development Information Centre Longford (EDIC) is an award-winning community-based social enterprise. For almost 27 years, delivering an integrated social innovation that tackles unemployment, waste, and social exclusion by combining environmental sustainability with community enterprise and personalised employment supports—to equip individuals with skills for life and work in a supportive, circular economy-based environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide financial oversight and reporting to the Board.
* Advise on budgeting, reserves, and financial planning.
* Ensure compliance with the Charities Regulator and financial legislation.
* Support the preparation and review of annual accounts and audit processes.
* Offer guidance on fundraising strategies and financial risk management.
* Inputting to the strategic direction, contributing with insight, oversight and experience of strategy formulation in other sectors.
Who We’re Looking For
* A qualified accountant or accounts technician.
* Experience with nonprofit financial management is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of compliance and financial reporting.
* Ability to contribute strategically and work collaboratively as part of a board.
* Passion for inclusion, environmental and social impact—voluntary work.
Time Commitment
There will be 6-8 meetings per year. Meetings are held at EDIC Centre, 11 A2 Mastertech Business Park, Athlone Rd, Longford. Opportunity for hybrid meetings (online/in person).
