John Sisk & Son are seeking a Bid Manager/Coordinator to join us in our Citywest Office.
The Bid Manager/Coordinator will focus on bid writing, developing technical and business content for bids and prequalification proposals (public and private procurement). They will support the bid team by managing the entire bid process from start to finish.
The role requires bid writing, reviewing, and editing content, working with bid team members to produce written responses and presentation materials aligned with customer deadlines. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of our business strategy and development team, supporting our growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review and understand the bid approach, contributing to its development.
2. Produce compelling bid material consistent with messaging to the customer.
3. Discuss bid strategies with the Head of Service and produce agreed responses for review and approval, including value propositions, methodologies, and delivery approaches.
4. Write clear, concise, and effective content within multiple deadlines.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather accurate information for comprehensive bids.
6. Manage standalone bids (RFTs/PQQs) of varying scales from start to finish, demonstrating strong managerial skills.
7. Liaise with the Marketing team to ensure company details are current and accurate for RFTs/PQQs.
8. Design visual content in line with Sisk brand guidelines, utilizing graphics skills.
9. Lead in evolving bid messaging and approaches, acting as a thought leader.
10. Schedule meetings and manage filing structures for contracts and projects.
11. Assist with commercial tasks such as drafting payment applications and project variations.
12. Coordinate team communications effectively.
13. Bring at least 5 years of experience in technical and business writing within a professional bid environment.
14. Maintain high attention to detail and strong writing skills.
15. Be deadline-driven with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
16. Possess design skills to create visually compelling bid content.
17. Experience with end-to-end bid management is essential.
18. Design experience and creating design packages are desirable.
19. Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
20. Shipley Bid Writing certification (desirable).
21. APMP Foundation certification (desirable).
