Our client, a highly respected and long-established contractor known for consistently delivering top-tier construction projects, is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to become a key part of their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work across multiple sites in Carlow, Wicklow, and South Dublin, with a company that places a strong emphasis on safety and quality.
Role Overview:
As the Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety across all project sites. Your role will involve proactive safety management, on-site inspections, and engaging with site teams to foster a strong safety culture.
Key Duties:
* Carry out routine health and safety audits and inspections across various construction sites.
* Recognise and assess risks, implementing effective preventative measures.
* Prepare and oversee safety documentation, including risk assessments and safety statements.
* Deliver inductions and ongoing safety training to staff and subcontractors.
* Maintain accurate safety records and support investigations into any incidents or near misses.
Candidate Requirements:
* At least 2 years of experience in a construction-based Health and Safety role.
* Comprehensive knowledge of current health and safety legislation in construction.
* Possess a recognised health and safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Willingness and ability to travel between multiple project sites in Carlow, Wicklow, and South Dublin.
