Sky Staffing Solutions is hiring on behalf of our client for the role of Senior Sous Chef based in Westport. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated culinary professional to take on a senior leadership role in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a passion for food, and a commitment to maintaining the highest culinary standards.
Working closely with the Head Chef, the Senior Sous Chef will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, supporting menu development, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and training kitchen staff to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support and deputise for the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
* Lead by example and uphold high standards across food quality, hygiene, and teamwork
* Ensure accurate preparation of all menu items and efficient service delivery
* Assist in achieving desired gross profit margins and cost controls
* Maintain operational hygiene standards and ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines
* Supervise kitchen staff and support their ongoing training and development
* Liaise with suppliers and ensure quality and pricing standards are met
* Monitor the condition and proper use of all kitchen equipment, ensuring prompt maintenance when required
* Promote a positive, collaborative, and respectful work culture within the kitchen
Candidate Requirements:
* 3–5 years of experience in a senior chef role within a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
* Strong understanding of HACCP and other food safety regulations
* Passion for food, quality, and presentation, with a detail-oriented approach
* Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
* High standards of hygiene, reliability, and professionalism
* Flexible with working hours and shift patterns
* Consistent, reliable, and positive approach to work
