ERNACT is seeking a Project Manager to lead the digital activation and community engagement elements of the PEACEPLUS Smart Villages Network Project (SVNP). This project is supported by the European Union's PEACEPLUS Programme and managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
The role will work directly with the participating digital hubs to help establish a cross-border network of digitally enabled rural hubs, strengthening community capacity, advancing the digital and green transitions, and improving access to services and opportunities across the North West City Region.
ERNACT is an international digital transformation network established in 1991. It is managed by Donegal County Council and Derry City & Strabane District Council to jointly pursue opportunities in funding, development and knowledge transfer for digital transformation. ERNACT are based in Colab on the ATU Campus, Letterkenny.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering the community engagement, digital inclusion and public outreach elements of the PEACEPLUS SVNP project. They will design and implement an inclusive capacity-building programme across 12 digital hubs, supporting rural communities on both sides of the border to adopt and benefit from digital transformation.
The role will include coordinating a suite of engagement activities, including innovation and exchange events, digital transformation workshops, community outreach sessions, and co-design activities. The Project Manager will also contribute to wider project delivery, ensuring that the project achieves measurable impact on digital transformation and inclusion across the North West City Region.
Working closely with the ERNACT team, digital hub staff, local authorities, education partners, community groups and cross-border stakeholders, the post-holder will ensure strong participation in all activities and support ongoing monitoring and evaluation processes. The position will be offered initially until June 2029.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking someone with:
* A minimum of 3 years post-graduate work experience in project management, digital transformation, green transition, community engagement, or a related field.
* A relevant honours bachelor's or master's degree (minimum NFQ Level 8).
* Proven project coordination and proposal writing experience, ideally in a multi-stakeholder, cross-border, or EU-funded environment.
* Experience working with local authorities, education partners, industry stakeholders, or community groups.
* Strong skills in communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
* Experience coordinating workshops, events or public engagement activities.
* Strong digital competence, including proficiency with Office 365 and online collaboration tools.
* An understanding of smart technologies and digital inclusion challenges, particularly in rural areas.
* Flexibility to travel within the North West City Region, Ireland, and occasionally elsewhere.
