Test Technician Job Description

This role involves performing inspection operations on sub-assemblies, modules and systems using engineering drawings, schematics, flow diagrams, specifications and methodologies. Troubleshooting faults down to component level is also a key aspect of this position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing samples, reagents and diluents for chemical testing of systems and modules. They will establish causes of malfunction and non-conformance in the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and chemical operation of systems with a minimum loss of test time.

Other responsibilities include assisting Engineering in the initial validation, installation and verification of new test procedures, equipment and products. The Test Technician will oversee and check any repair work that has to be carried out to ensure that the fault is corrected.

Key skills and qualifications include 2 years experience in a similar manufacturing environment. Experience as a Test Technician in a mechanical or electrical environment is also desirable. A related third-level qualification (QQI Level 6 and above) and excellent PC skills are essential.

Awareness of the risks involved in handling dangerous corrosive or infectious materials and adherence to strict safety rules is crucial. Training in new personnel is also a requirement.

Requirements:

* 2 years experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
