THE ROLEThe Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple contracts and projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards for one of the companys' under the Wtech Fire Group.
Reporting to: General Manager Hours: 37hrs per week Days: 5 ESSENTIAL CRITERIA5 + years experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role in the Fire, Construction, Engineering, or related industry.
In-depth knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and standard forms (e.g., JCT, NEC, FIDIC).
Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, organisation and time management skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or similar.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
DESIRABLE CRITERIAProfessional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, ICES) or working towards accreditation.
Experience with digital contract systems, ERP tools, or project management software.
Knowledge of public sector procurement and contract frameworks.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESManage the full lifecycle of contracts from award through to completion and final account.
Review contract terms, identify risks, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure effective delivery.
Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and commercial staff to meet project milestones.
Monitor performance, cost, and programme against contract requirements.
Prepare and submit valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts.
Provide guidance on contractual and commercial issues to project teams.
Negotiate contract terms, extensions, and resolutions of disputes when required.
Ensure health & safety and quality standards are upheld across all contractual work.
Report regularly to senior management on contract progress, issues, and risks.
