The site operates a highly automated environment, utilizing state-of-the-art systems including Emerson DeltaV, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Honeywell, and OSI Historian platforms.This role forms part of the core engineering team, supporting both day-to-day automation activities and key capital projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain, optimize, and develop automation systems critical to the manufacture of high-quality pharmaceutical products.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide automation support for production systems, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.Support ongoing manufacturing operations, process improvements, and capital projects.Implement code and system modifications in line with site change control and quality procedures.Participate in the development and maintenance of automated system lifecycle documentation.Ensure the validated state of automation systems is maintained in compliance with GMP standards.Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities across systems and processes.Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities for new equipment and systems.Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure project and operational success.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Electrical, Electronic, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Automation Engineer in a regulated GMP environment (biotech, pharma, or related industry).Proven experience delivering Emerson DeltaV (S88) solutions and/or high-level expertise in PLC and SCADA-based automation systems.Strong understanding of automation lifecycle management and system validation.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Experience with project coordination or project management is an advantage.Hands-on DeltaV coding experience is essential for this role.Experience in process plant commissioning and start-up.Familiarity with automation design and validation processes.Knowledge of GMP change control procedures.Exposure to Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.Practical experience with fully automated process environments.Work arrangement: 100% on-site (South Dublin)Right to work: Applicants must be eligible to work in Ireland.Relocation: Not available for this position.How to ApplyIf you’re an Automation Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge automation systems within a leading biopharma manufacturing environment, we’d love to hear from you.Apply with your CV today and we’ll be in touch to discuss the next steps.We’re not including non-essential boilerplate or external postings in this refined description.
