We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Auto Parts Assistant to join our specialist clutch business. The successful candidate will support daily parts operations, assisting customers, technicians, and trade partners in identifying, sourcing, and delivering the correct clutch components and related products efficiently and accurately.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for the motor industry who enjoys working in a hands-on, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist customers in person and over the phone in identifying and selecting correct clutch parts.
* Process parts orders accurately through the internal system (phone, email, or in-person).
* Manage inventory levels, including stock checks, labeling, and restocking.
* Receive, inspect, and store incoming deliveries.
* Prepare outgoing orders, ensuring parts are correctly packed and dispatched.
* Provide technical support to customers regarding clutch parts compatibility and fitment.
* Handle warranty returns, credits, and supplier communications as required.
* Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts.
* Keep the parts area clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
* Ability to work on one's own initiative or as part of a team in a busy environment.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
* Previous experience in an automotive parts / motor factors / workshop parts department role. Clutch/transmission knowledge is a plus.
* Strong customer service skills; ability to engage with both trade and private customers.
* Good understanding of vehicle parts/systems, particularly relating to clutch and transmission parts.
* Competent with stock management / parts catalogue software / inventory systems.
* Solid IT literacy: data entry, order processing, email/phone communications.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
* Full, clean Irish Driving Licence.
Desirable:
* Experience with clutch or transmission specialist parts / technical knowledge.
* Knowledge of popular clutch brands (e.g. LUK, Sachs, Valeo etc.)
