Senior Cloud Engineer – Daily Rate Contract
In this role, the successful candidate will work as a key contributor within our client’s cloud platform team, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and secure delivery pipelines. Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver well‑architected solutions aligned with industry best practices.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement production‑grade cloud infrastructure in regulated environments.
* Automate cloud deployments using Terraform, Python, Go or Shell scripting.
* Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using GitOps workflows.
* Optimize cost and performance across large‑scale cloud environments.
* Configure containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, EKS/Kubernetes).
* Implement zero‑trust architecture, data encryption and key management systems (KMS).
* Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments using Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk or Dynatrace.
* Contribute to open‑source projects and actively participate in cloud engineering communities.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering or site reliability engineering.
* 3+ years of direct experience with AWS and multi‑account architecture (landing zones, control tower).
* Deep understanding of cloud security, networking, identity and access management, and governance within AWS.
* Proficiency in a scripting or programming language (Python, Go, Shell).
* Experience with continuous integration/delivery pipelines and GitOps workflows.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
* Prior experience in financial services, fintech or other regulated industries.
* Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (EKS/Kubernetes).
* Advanced knowledge of networking (firewalls, DNS, load balancing, proxies, etc.).
* Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk or Dynatrace, as well as AWS native tools.
* Experience optimizing cost and performance across large‑scale cloud environments.
