The Opportunity The Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Specialist is responsible for leading Allianz Irelands external communications and public affairs strategy. This includes media relations, campaign delivery, executive visibility, issues and crisis management, and stakeholder engagement. The role supports the organisations public profile across consumer, corporate, and sustainability themes, working closely with senior leadership and agency partners. Key Responsibilities: Media & Public Relations Act as press office lead for Allianz Ireland, managing day-to-day media enquiries Draft press releases, media statements, Q&As, and briefing notes for senior spokespersons Manage sensitive issues in coordination with Group Communications, Legal, and external PR agencies Campaign Development Lead PR strategy and execution for corporate brand campaigns Manage external PR agencies to deliver campaign planning and activation Track, analyse, and report on campaign performance and earned media results Executive Communications Draft LinkedIn posts, speech scripts, and public messaging for the CEO and senior leadership Support executives in preparation for media engagements and public speaking opportunities Align internal communications where appropriate with external messaging Sustainability & Policy Develop communications to support Allianz Irelands ESG and sustainability initiatives, including the annual Sustainability Brochure Contribute to advocacy on key policy issues such as road safety, sustainable homes, and insurance reform Prepare content for stakeholder engagement, industry panels, and government consultation submissions Crisis & Reputation Management Lead the communications response to reputational risks (e.g. fraud cases, legacy affiliations) Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Group Communications on sensitive issues Prepare holding statements, talking points, and media response strategies as needed Maintain and update the communications risk register/matrix, identifying potential reputational risks and developing mitigation plans in partnership with the wider risk team Public Affairs Manage relationships with key government departments and regulatory stakeholders Oversee lobbying activity and ensure compliance with the Irish Lobbying Register Coordinate briefings and materials for meetings with Ministers, advisors, and Oireachtas members ? Key Requirements / Skills & Experience 7+ years experience in communications, journalism, or public affairs ideally within financial services or a regulated industry Strong writing, editing, and message development skills across multiple channels Proven experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and media-facing roles Able to simplify technical content and navigate sensitive reputational matters Comfortable operating in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines Allianz plc. is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
