Job Description
As part of the construction and commissioning of a new dairy products manufacturing plant, the company is recruiting an engineer to join a multidisciplinary project engineering team (process, utilities, building, packaging equipment).
The engineer will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring equipment safety and regulatory compliance from the design and engineering phases through acceptance testing and commissioning. The role includes managing external industrial safety experts (Machine safety, ATEX, Process safety, Fire safety) who will support the team and check the compliance against safety international standards during those phases.
Equipment Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Implement company equipment safety specifications and compliance strategy.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards (Machinery Directive, ATEX, REACH, pressure regulation, and Company Process safety / Fire safety / Workplace safety requirements, (EN)-ISO, IEC standards).
Project Coordination
Act as equipment safety focal point within the project team.
Ensure safety requirements are included in technical specifications, RFQs, and contracts and are known, understood and embedded in the technical solution offers.
Coordinate with engineering teams, suppliers, and external safety experts.
Track and close safety-related actions throughout the project lifecycle.
Management of External Industrial Safety Experts
Select, onboard, and manage third-party safety experts.
Prepare RFQs, manage contracts, and schedule safety reviews.
Coordinate activities and ensure alignment with project timeline.
Review and consolidate outputs from external experts.
Explain safety requirements and compliance verification process, coach the team.
Ensure supplier documentation is collected and reviewed.
Lead safety design reviews, risk assessments, and compliance reporting.
Support FAT/SAT and commissioning phases.
Interfaces with Internal Stakeholders
Work closely with project engineering, HSE, and operations teams.
Provide technical support on hazard identification and risk assessment.
Support internal reviews and safety training activities.
Education
Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Safety Engineering.
Experience
5 to 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance or project engineering, managing equipment manufacturers, design, commissioning, or as a machine safety expert or machine designer.
Background in machinery and equipment safety (Machinery Directive, ISO norms) or CMSE.
Experience coordinating suppliers and external experts.
Experience in regulated industrial environments (Machinery, ATEX, Pressure, Environmental regulation).
Technical Skills
