Quality Coordinator - Quality Assistant-Permanent - West Cork
(commutable form Cork city)
We will consider STRONG GRADUATES IN FOOD SCIENCE or related Scientific degree e.g: Microbiology/Biotechnology
Reporting to the Quality Manager the Quality Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems within the laboratories as well as coordinate activities to ensure GMP/cGLP by setting up clear guidelines/KPIs to be achieved and maintained as well as drive operational excellence along with the Quality Management Team.
Main Responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with current regulations and company directives/guidelines
Performing regular inspections and reviews to ensure the employees adhere to quality procedures/policies
Conducting and leading with training and improvements plans related to change control
Preparing and maintaining Quality Management documentation
Implementing processes and procedures to ensure on-time delivery of testing in compliance with cGMP and cGLP i.e., leading the team in optimising safety, performance and efficiency using established lean principles
Ensure compliance to all site and central requirements, training and regulations i.e., Quality, Health and Safety as well as Environmental.
Coordinate weekly Environmental Swabbing and testing program, in accordance with the site and in accordance with the central standards and communicate test results
Developing/updating/Implementing and approving test methods/work instructions/protocols/Quality Systems/Company Policies in alignment with site and central laboratory strategy (completed in a timely manner)
Leading and/or investigating OOS/OOT results and implementing CAPAs related to analytical testing
Supporting other functions with the goal of performing all analytical testing that is required for plant operations and projects (i.e., Ops/SC/R&D/Projects), and as a Subject Matter Expert
Liaising with Quality Manager in the day-to-day activities and plans
Perform Quality and Food Safety Internal Audits programs in accordance to company guidelines/directives
Purchasing of all materials and services relating to the laboratories
Key Requirements
Third level qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related discipline
1 - 2 years' experience in a Laboratory environment would be beneficial
Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Technologies and previous experience of using Quality Systems (such as LIMS, Bamboo etc..) highly desirable
Working knowledge of quality and food safety legislation
Knowledge of ISO Methods and PCR Technology would be beneficial
Excellence in organizational skills, flexible and must be able to work outside scheduled hours
Flexible and agile on taking new projects and seeing them through to completion
