The Digital Healthcare (DHC) business unit seeks an experienced Mechatronic Systems Design Engineer to support the development of a novel biosensor system. This biosensor system leverages electrochemical and optical sensors, microfluidic components, measurement electronics, algorithms, and control software to perform highly accurate and reliable biomarker measurements for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
Roles & Responsibilities
This is a lab-based role (required onsite full time), supporting the product design team. The successful candidate will:
* Design, develop and maintain complex measurement systems for the characterization of biological sensors.
* Take ownership in ensuring measurement systems function as designed on a day-to-day basis.
* Drive continuous improvements in lab setups.
* Participate as a member of a multi-disciplined engineering team in solving product development challenges.
Qualifications & Requirements
* BEng or MEng in Electronic/Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
* 3+ years of industry experience in a relevant role.
* Self-starter attitude and ability to work independently when required.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
* Strong electronic design knowledge including both analog & digital circuit theory.
* Experience with schematic capture & PCB design.
* Hands-on experience with using lab equipment.
* Experience building benchtop characterization/measurement setups.
Advantageous Skills
* Experience using LabVIEW and SolidWorks.
* Experience characterizing Sensors.
* Experience working with optical and/or electrochemical sensors.
* Fluidic design and/or characterization experience.
