In recent years, The Irish Times Group expanded its interests to include the Irish Examiner, The Echo, regional newspapers, in addition to the Citywest print facility, RecruitIreland.com, MyHome.ie, RIP.ie, The Gloss and Score Beo.THE ROLEThe Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of strategically important technology and product initiatives across multiple digital product channels. Working in close partnership with Product Managers and technical teams (engineering, product design, data and analytics), the role will drive end‑to‑end delivery of complex initiatives, ensuring alignment to business strategy and product priorities.A core focus of the role is driving delivery while actively managing capacity and dependenciesacross teams operating in a fast‑paced, product‑led environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Project DeliveryLead the end‑to‑end delivery of strategic cross‑product and functional projects from discovery through to release and operational handoverTranslate product objectives into clear, achievable delivery plans across three product channels (commercial, apps and publishing)Partner closely with Product Managers to align delivery plans with product roadmaps and feature prioritiesWork day‑to‑day with engineering, product design, data and analytics teams to coordinate feature deliveryFacilitate effective decision‑making across product and technical stakeholders, balancing scope, time and qualityDelivery Governance & ExecutionDefine and maintain clear plans, milestones, risks, dependencies and delivery outcomesActively manage delivery risks, issues and dependencies, escalating appropriatelyEnsure delivery follows agreed governance, frameworks and ways of workingProvide clear, concise status reporting to senior stakeholders and governance forumsCapacity & Resource ManagementActively manage team and cross‑team capacity to ensure delivery commitments are realistic and sustainableWork with technology and product leadership to support prioritisation and sequencing of workIdentify capacity constraints early and recommend options to balance demand and capabilityStakeholder & Communication ManagementBuild strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Technology, Product, Editorial, Commercial and DataCommunicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non‑technical audiencesSupport shared understanding of delivery progress, constraints and trade‑offsSkills & ExperienceSignificant experience delivering complex technology or digital product initiatives in a cross‑functional environmentProven ability to manage delivery across multiple teams and workstreamsStrong experience working alongside Product Managers and agile delivery teamsDemonstrated capability in capacity planning, resource management and prioritisationExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsFormal Project Management certificationDesirable / AdvantageousUnderstanding of digital subscription revenue models and lifecycle (acquisition, retention, churn) and digital advertising modelsExperience in a media, publishing or content organisationExperience working within a product‑led or platform organisationPersonal AttributesComfortable operating with ambiguity and adaptable in a fast‑moving environmentStructured, delivery‑focused and outcome‑orientedConfident working at both strategic and hands‑on levelsCollaborative leader who brings clarity and momentum to complex initiativesPlease Apply via the Apply button below and we will have a closing date for applications of May 28th at 4pm.The Irish Times Group operate a Hybrid working policy.Our benefits include, Health Insurance contribution, Pension Contribution, Sick Leave Cover, Maternity and Paternity Leave, Irish Times & Irish Examiner Premium Digital Subscription, Income Protection Policy, Corporate Gym Membership discounts, Free Digital GP and Life Assurance Policy.Apply for this positionFirst nameLast nameEmailLinkedIn profilePhoneLocationCV fileDo you have at least 8-10 years experience delivering complex technology or digital product initiatives in a cross‑functional environment?Do you have experience working within a product‑led or platform organisation ?What is your notice period/availability to start a new role?Have you been referred to this job by a current The Irish Times employee?
