Our client, a leading engineering and scientific R&D organisation requires an experienced Production Engineer to join their team on-site at manufacturing facility in Swords. This role includes hands-on work such as retrofitting production lines and supporting the transfer of products from UK to site in Ireland. Strong communication skills required - working closely with R&D team in UK.
Please note: Due to regular travel between the UK and Ireland for product transfer activities, we are prioritising candidates with no travel restrictions.
Responsibilities
1. Support and optimise existing manufacturing processes, driving improvements across product lines.
2. Define, validate, and implement manufacturing processes for upgrade programmes and new product introductions.
3. Provide support in the development, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical/electrical assembly jigs, fixtures, and bespoke test equipment.
4. Conduct process analysis and generate product quality reporting.
5. Collaborate with Engineers and Production teams, Research & Development team, to maintain and enhance quality standards.
6. Work closely with Product Designers to ensure products are designed for efficient assembly.
7. Participate in hands-on assembly work and contribute to retrofitting of older production lines as needed.
Requirements
8. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
9. Experience in a medium/high-volume manufacturing environment.
10. Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
11. Practical experience with Six Sigma tools, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gauge R&R, and Process Capability (preferred).
12. Experience using business intelligence tools for data analysis (desired).
13. Exposure to Industry 4.0 real-time data analytics (e.g., Power BI, SQL, VBA/Excel).
14. Proven experience in the practical application of Lean methodologies.
15. Demonstrated ability in the design, validation, and implementation of assembly fixtures.
16. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.
17. Proactive, focused, and comfortable working in a hands-on production environment
