Our client, a leading engineering and scientific R&D organisation requires an experienced
Production Engineer
to join their team on-site at manufacturing facility in Swords. This role includes hands-on work such as retrofitting production lines and supporting the transfer of products from UK to site in Ireland. Strong communication skills required - working closely with R&D team in UK.

Responsibilities
* Support and optimise existing manufacturing processes, driving improvements across product lines.
* Define, validate, and implement manufacturing processes for upgrade programmes and new product introductions.
* Provide support in the development, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical/electrical assembly jigs, fixtures, and bespoke test equipment.
* Conduct process analysis and generate product quality reporting.
* Collaborate with Engineers and Production teams, Research & Development team, to maintain and enhance quality standards.
* Work closely with Product Designers to ensure products are designed for efficient assembly.
* Participate in hands-on assembly work and contribute to retrofitting of older production lines as needed.
Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Experience in a medium/high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
* Practical experience with Six Sigma tools, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gauge R&R, and Process Capability (preferred).
* Experience using business intelligence tools for data analysis (desired).
* Exposure to Industry 4.0 real-time data analytics (e.g., Power BI, SQL, VBA/Excel).
* Proven experience in the practical application of Lean methodologies.
* Demonstrated ability in the design, validation, and implementation of assembly fixtures.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.
* Proactive, focused, and comfortable working in a hands-on production environment
