Our client, a busy general practice law firm, is seeking an experienced and highly organised Legal Secretary to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a strong legal background to provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support across multiple practice areas, including conveyancing, family, litigation, wills & probate, and commercial law.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and legal executives.
* Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence.
* Manage diaries, schedule appointments, and organise meetings.
* Handle telephone calls and client enquiries in a professional and confidential manner.
* Maintain and organise client files (both paper and electronic).
* Assist with file opening and closing procedures, including conflict checks and ID verifications.
* Prepare and process invoices, bills, and other financial documents.
* Liaise with clients and third parties as required.
* Support the smooth running of the office with general administrative tasks.
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a general practice law firm.
* Strong knowledge of legal terminology and documentation.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management systems.
* Fast and accurate audio and copy typing skills.
* Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Professional and confident telephone manner.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied workload.
* Discretion and respect for client confidentiality.
* Experience supporting multiple practice areas (e.g. conveyancing, family, litigation, probate).
Desirable Criteria
* Legal secretarial qualification or relevant training.
* Previous experience supporting commercial law.
