Meet the team

The Accounts Payable and Receivable teams are responsible for the timely processing and payment of multi-currency invoices across different legal entities and customer cash collection within agreed credit terms.

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to manage the day-to-day operations of Accounts Payable/ Receivables processed through RTÉ.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller on all matters and related issues, you will ensure that payments are made in an appropriate, timely manner and operate in accordance with best RTÉ Corporate practices and regulations and customers adhere to their credit terms.

About the role:

* Manage a team of 5 where accounts payable process 14,000 supplier invoices and 150 payment runs annually ensuring all timelines are met and payments made in accordance with RTÉ policies and customers adhere to credit terms and accurate cash forecasting of circa €182m and timely resolution of customer queries
* Review and completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Manage Accounts Payable / Receivable year-end process for RTÉ, liaising with external auditors, completion of Revenue returns and notes for annual report
* Provision of ad hoc financial information for business and external stakeholders
* Ensure tax compliance of VAT, PSWT, RCT, Intrastat returns and all other applicable taxes

About you:

* A qualified accountant of a recognised professional body of accountants and ideally have at least 5 years post qualified experience in a Finance department
* Experience in using computerised accounts systems
* Excellent Excel and Microsoft Word skills
* Considerable experience in the preparation of monthly management reports to tight deadlines
* Good communication skills, effectively able to convey financial issues to non-finance personnel
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate

Nice to have

* Previous financial experience in supplier payments and cash collection
* Prior experience in dealing with 3rd party suppliers and consultants
* Experience with other Microsoft applications such as SharePoint, Power BI

This appointment will be made at the Manager 2 grade and is being offered on a one-year fixed term full-time contract basis. The salary range is from €72,605 to €101,840 gross per annum.
