Full-time Healthcare Assistants are currently required by Ireland's Largest Nursing Home Group, emeis Ireland, with a salary of €27,000, working 39 hours per week. The minimum hourly rate of remuneration is €13.31.
Candidates should have at least QQI Level 5 in healthcare or higher; experience in caring for the Older Person is highly desirable.
Job Description
To deliver hands-on nursing care to residents in a caring, respectful, and person-centred manner, ensuring the residents' wishes are observed wherever possible.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Maintain high standards of care within the Nursing Home.
2. Take full responsibility for the care assigned.
3. Keep accurate and quality records in compliance with HIQA standards.
4. Provide all aspects of care according to each person's needs and care plan.
5. Ensure the safety and security of the Nursing Home, adhering to fire and emergency policies.
6. Report any deficiencies, anomalies, or concerns immediately to the Home Manager.
7. Familiarize with legislation and policies concerning nursing homes.
8. Handle all information and data securely and confidentially.
9. Perform additional duties as directed by management.
10. Ensure residents receive person-centred care and maintain their dignity and independence.
11. Assist residents with personal hygiene, toileting, mobility, and eating/drinking as needed.
12. Support residents in dressing appropriately for the season and their preferences.
13. Participate in therapy and other prescribed activities.
14. Engage with residents and report concerns to nursing staff.
15. Communicate effectively with staff, residents, relatives, and visitors.
16. Attend training sessions as required.
17. Work as part of a care team, following allocation sheets and rosters.
18. Follow company policies and procedures.
19. Use medical equipment carefully and as instructed.
20. Respond promptly to Nurse Call bells.
21. Respect residents' belongings and needs, promoting independence and empowerment.
