About the Opportunity

Join a leading global technology provider as a junior to mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer, supporting the design and construction of state-of-the-art data centres across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). You'll work closely with experienced engineers and stakeholders in design, construction, and sustainability, helping to deliver innovative solutions for critical infrastructure projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on multi-million-euro projects, where your ideas are welcomed and your ingenuity is celebrated. The role is based in our Dublin office with a supportive, resource-rich environment and a stable, Monday-to-Friday schedule.
What You'll Do
* Support HVAC and mechanical design activities for new-build data centres across EMEA.
* Manage multiple projects in different regions, ensuring design excellence and consistency.
* Review and approve equipment submittals, and coordinate with external design consultancies.
* Collaborate with internal teams to understand user requirements and deliver robust solutions.
* Troubleshoot design challenges, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and drive corrective actions.
* Define project scopes and provide hands-on support throughout construction phases.
* Specify and liaise with regional vendors and manufacturers to select appropriate mechanical equipment.
* Travel as needed for site reviews, engineering evaluations, audits, and project launches.
* Participate in knowledge sharing, embracing new industry standards and creative approaches.
What We're Looking For
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or related field).
* 3+ years' experience in HVAC, data centre cooling, electronics cooling, or building services.
* Strong research skills in new designs, technologies, and construction methods.
* Ability to develop and deploy innovative design concepts from inception through to construction.
* Business case analysis skills to justify technical decisions at a high level.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Some experience in data centre or mission-critical facility design (pharma, hospitals, semi-conductor projects) would be ideal.
* Some knowledge of BIM and CFD modelling would be great, but not essential
